John Yeager was the son of John P. and Pheobe Anise/Anastasia Hull Yeager. His siblings were: Jacob, Sarah, Elizabeth, Andrew, Phoebe, Susannah, Rachel and Mary (Polly). They were from Pocahantas County, Virginia.

John Yeager married Margaret Pentzam Beauchamp on Oct 28,1819 in Pike County, Ohio. They lived in Fountain, Wayne and Tippecanoe counties in Indiana. They had the following children: John Beauchamp, Andrew Jackson (died young), Mary H.(died young), Elizabeth (Campbell, and then possibly Barker), George Washington, and Asbury (not proven and died young).

Margaret and John Yeager divorced and he married Elizabeth Esget Scott in 1860. In the 1880 Census he is living in Warren, Indiana with his daughter Elisabeth Barker and listed as widowed. His burial site is next to Margaret's. In 2016, only the headstone of son Andrew Yeager, Sr. was left in this section of Kiser.
