The 1880 census is very interesting: Frederick and his family are at one farm, the next farm is the Deem farm, who is the brother of Frederick's wife, ( Julia Ann Deem), Adam Deem, though he (Adam) is dead and his widow Margaret and family are living there. Next door, is Severine and his family. This also explains the close family connection that Adam's son Joseph Campbell Deem, has to the family appearing in the 1909 family photo. The attached Plat map also shows this, also the fact that both Frederick and Severine are born in Baden Germany, and the fact that Severine's family shows up in the newspaper article of the 50th wedding party shows that most probably Frederick and Severine are brothers.
