Abraham served in Company C. 34th Illinois Infantry in the Civil War.

Abraham was a resident of Ogle Co., IL., when he enlisted on Feb 14, 1864 at Franklin Grove, IL. for 3 years service, and was mustered into Co. C. 34th IL. Infantry on Feb 28, 1864 at Dixon, IL. He was described as 22 years old 5' 5" tall with light hair, hazel eyes, and sandy hair, a farmer born in PA. He was discharged on Oct 29, 1864 for disability resulting from wounds received in battle.

On Oct 16, 1866 he received an Army Invalid Pension for wounds received during the war.

In the 1910 census of Chicago, Abraham is listed as a 59 year old machinist widower, married in 1868, residing with his children: Carrie L. age 26, Fennian 24, Nellie T. 21, Chauncey C. 18. and Ullyses G. 28 with his wife Sarah E. 30 and their child Esther M. age 3.

When Abraham died on Dec 12, 191,0 his death certificate stated he was a 69 year old widowed janitor/farmer born July 11, 1841 in PA., the son of Frank Buck. Abraham resided at 2134 Maple Ave., Chicago, and was buried at Rose Hill Cemetery on Dec 14, 1910.
